How to Overcome Home Exterior Design “Decision Paralysis”

Is your home overdue for a big boost in curb appeal, comfort, or functionality, but you just can’t seem to get motivated or decide how to proceed? Your social media feed is filled with stunning, colorful images of charming cottages, magnificent manors, and sleek modern homes, making your own seem “blah” by comparison. You know your house needs a change, but selecting the right styles and colors that complement its architectural style can be a daunting task. Indecision and worry about choosing the wrong product can make you reluctant to get started.
Discover Design Options that Fit Your Home’s Exterior Style
One way to move forward is to understand the features that define your home’s design style. From there, you can decide whether you’d like to stick with traditional design aspects or take it in the opposite direction. Find Color Inspiration
The next step to evolving your inner “exterior designer” is to browse through various palettes to discover which color schemes elicit emotion and tout your tastes. Do you prefer warm or neutral colors? Bold shades, or serene? If you’re not quite sure, ProVia has paired products with palettes that combine complementary, eye-catching colors.

Compile Your Favorite Ideas Using Vision Boards
To create vision boards, you’ll need to be logged in to your account. In addition to any color palette images you’ve saved, you can “favorite” other images on the site by clicking the heart in the upper right corner. Once you’re done saving your favorites, you’ll be ready to start creating your own inspiring vision boards. Want a board with just entry door ideas? Make one! Need to visualize your favorite colors together? Save swatches, and create a board with just those colors. Use your saved images to create whatever you want!
Visualize the big picture
Are you more of a “big picture” person, preferring to see how all the parts fit together as a whole? It can be hard to imagine how your home will look by holding up a siding color swatch or trying to visualize a new metal roof replacing your worn-out asphalt shingles. This inability to “see” the finished result in your mind’s eye can be frustrating.
